Dear Manchester Families:

On behalf of our school staff, we welcome you and your child/children to the 2020-21 school year.  Our theme this year is Adventures in Learning because everything we will do this year is intentionally and purposely geared to help your child be successful not only in the classroom but in life.  We are focused on developing the whole child – academically, socially, and emotionally. With that said, our three schoolwide priorities are reflected in our school improvement plan, and our school/home learning compact:

  1. Literacy –  Provide a strong base of foundational skills (phonics, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary), build on fluency and comprehension, and promote a culture of reading in our school community.
  2. Social Emotional Learning – Implement processes “…through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.”
  3. Exceptional Children’s Program – Review current program implementation, provide professional development for staff, incorporate new strategies and interventions if necessary, and foster family engagement.

Consider yourself a vital part of this adventure.  We cannot reach our destination with you. Your child’s learning experience is maximized when the adults in the home participate in the learning.  Participation may look different depending on the family’s situation. We are committed to partnering with you to find reasonable and innovative solutions to support your child.

Thank you for helping us help your child be successful in this new school year.

Happy Adventures,

Kailey Hill,
Principal
