Spring Lake Middle School currently loses approximately 600 instructional hours incomparison to the other CCS middle schools because coaches and student athletes have toleave before school ends to compete. The 14 other middle schools, start earlier in the daythan SLMS. This puts SLMS students at a serious academic disadvantage. Altering SpringLake Middle School’s bell schedule will resolve this problem. However, a bell schedule change for Spring Lake Middle School would also impact Lillian  Black Elementary andManchester Elementary Schools.

Under the proposed bell schedule change, Spring Lake Middle School would open its doorsto receive students at 7 AM, the tardy bell would ring at 7:30 AM, and the dismissal bellwould ring at 2:40 PM. Manchester Elementary School would open its doors to receivestudents at 8 AM. The tardy bell would ring at 8:30 AM.  The dismissal bell would ring at 3:10PM. Lillian Black Elementary School would open its doors to receive students at 7 AM. The tardy bell would ring at 7:30 AM. The dismissal bell would ring at 2:10 PM.

Before a decision is made, we would like input from parents, guardians, and staff concerningthis proposed change in bell schedules for Spring Lake Middle School, ManchesterElementary School, and Lillian Black Elementary Schools. Please complete this short surveyno later than Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Thank you.
